How to choose a power bank that is safe and actually fast
HARDWAREA good power bank saves a long travel day. A bad one charges slowly, heats up, or lies about its capacity.
What to check on the box
- Capacity in mAh: 10,000mAh charges most phones about twice
- Output in watts: 20W or more for fast charging modern phones
- USB-C Power Delivery support if your phone or laptop uses it
- BIS certification mark for chargers and batteries sold in India
Why you never get the full capacity
Some energy is lost as heat while converting voltage, so a 10,000mAh bank usually delivers around 6,000 to 7,000mAh to your phone. That is normal, not a fault.
Flying soon? Airlines generally allow power banks only in cabin baggage, not checked bags. Check your airline's limit before you pack.
