Running out of Google Drive or iCloud space? What to delete first

Free cloud storage fills up fast because photos, email and backups all share the same space.

1. Old phone backups from devices you no longer use
2. Large email attachments: search for emails larger than 10MB
3. Videos you recorded by accident or already shared elsewhere
4. Duplicate photos and screenshots
5. Files in the trash or recently deleted folders, which still count until emptied

Google shows a storage manager at one.google.com/storage. On iPhone, open Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage storage.

Before deleting, download anything precious to an external drive. Cloud storage is not a backup if it is the only copy.
